Laser Buddy
A downloadable game for Windows
Collect all coins and avoid/kill enemies in this simple, but addictive, action platformer.
NEW VERSION: Thanks to Mateus#3197 and other players for their suggestions/playthrough/debugging, I have fixed several bugs as one of the sphere combos was not working and the description of the combos below was wrong for other two! Sorry about that. Also added some sounds so the user feedback is a little better., and changed the shooting controls (you now shoot with the arrow keys and it feels so much better!).
Controls:
- WASD or arrow keys - move and jump (S does nothing)
- Arrow keys - shoot in any of the four directions.
- Version 0.2 supports zooming in and out with SPACE (you start zoomed in by default).
- F12 restarts the game, ALT+ENTER supported for full screen.
Collect three spheres to gain powerups:
- 3 like-colored spheres = +1 life (up to 5)
- Green/Yellow/Green = Max lives (5)
- Red/Aqua/Orange = Destroy all small bunny enemies
- Red/Lime/Yellow = Destroy all big skull enemies
- Yellow/Aqua/Red = Destroy all blocks of a random color
- Orange/Orange/Green = 20 second invincibility (against small foes! Skull foes are tougher, this will grant reduced damage!)
Try to collect all coins! Post a screenshot if you do!

Tileset provided by Jam (BitterJam) as a constraint. Free sound effects by freesound.org. Color palette randomly generated by colormind.io. Everything else (including the music!) done by me.
Install instructions
Play from browser, or unzip and play!
Notes:
- Can be resource-intensive as the world is destroyable. Runs fine on my i7 with nVidia GPU.
- Uses an API for colors (colormind.io) and resets to a default palette if no connection/API limit/etc.

Pretty fun game! I think the destroying mechanic lends itself to some very interesting gameplay, although I think it could be more clear as to which blocks are empty and which are full.
Thanks a lot for trying it out and for your comments! I agree on the palettes. Note that the palettes are randomized via colormid.io's API, so I've had times with great contrasting palettes and times where it's not as clear. Best,
